In 1973, United Car Rentals (UCR) was started by Sheikh Mana Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum to step into the rent-a-car market. Since then, UCR has managed to attain a major chunk of the market in the rent-a-car industry. Serving the Qatar market since 2004, United Car Rentals Co. WLL is a joint venture between NBK Holding Co. and Wafi Transport LLC.
